I have a huge BOC - Boards Of Canada - influence. It's like snake poison to me - BOC is my musical boa constrictor. Like great snakes, BOC's tracks weave in and out of moods with unparalleled density and eagle-eyed character. They were my introduction to ambient downtempo music aged 14. And at that true ambient music. These two tracks represent as sounds influenced - though nowhere near as good - by their oratory imaginistic qualities of mundanity put to sound.
It's like the ultimate coffee and at that Indian Kulfi experience...none of it is designed to grip dance floors, it's an aperitif or momento of a triumphant moment in someone's history.
Many fans have felt like this about Boards Of Canada on the FaceBook fan club. And other fans just read the pages, like glancing "moments of clarity", "happy cycling through the pages", like going "Into The Rainbow Vein" itself.
