Acid Rain. While chatting with the proprietor of the shop upon checkout, the man went and GAVE me his wife's ticket to see Ornette Coleman that very same night. She had fallen ill and couldn't go. The ticket was on the main floor and would have cost me $44. I was on my way to a film-festival but I don't pass up opportunities to catch living legends. It was Ornette's birthday and the whole audience sung him happy birthday and gave him two standing ovations. All the music played had been specifically written for the performance, that is except for the encore. Ornette was rocking the sax, trumpet, and violin, accompanied by drums, bass, and cello.
My night had already been made when I ran across the record in the bin to my surprise. The concert was like a whole wedding cake on the icing on the cake.
