the pairing definitely works well, but it will take a few listens for it to really sink in. At the moment, it just sounds like a big fucking mess (which is a compliment), but Braxton does not sound out of place at all.
Loads of energy, a gleeful malevolence, violently cathartic and other such adjectives The Wire would probably use. Do like the way they approach noise as a musical form. No way near as polished and clean-cut (if noise can be polished and clean-cut) as the pristine, painful noise of Merzbow and John Wiese, but a lot more fun than other metal leaning stuff like Kevin Drumm.
One of their tracks, Stabbed in the Face, even sounds like Aphex's Ventolin
