Y know what I really need to track down a lot of the stuff I used to hear years ago.. I remember hearing lots of stuff of the juan atkins kevin saunderson carl craig era... all the minimal type stuff that was quite moody... Then most of what I heard was really hard as nails industrial type stuff more european...wasnt in to that so kind of lost intrest. + lack of funds meant that I could only buy hardore/jungle. So I didnt even get to hear much good techno.

Can someone recomend me some stuff on the detroit tip. Also feel free to update on what happened to this sound/scene over the course of the 90s....
YES i love techno, but for some reason I've never gotten really properly into the hard stuff... I prefer my techno minimal, dubby and floating, abstract Cool

i'm exactly the same. one of the most boring gigs i ever went to was a jeff mills one. i've got loads of his records but a gig of the relentless stuff bores me even more than hard-ass d&b.
yeah I love a bit of techno, preferably in a field or a grubby warehouse. Dave Angel, Pest, Billy Nasty as well as the more hardcore end of the spectrum: Hellfish, Producer, Dolphin, Scorpio, Addiction, Smurf, Loftgroover

He more or less started the whole minimal thing with his lp "Internal Empire" in 1994.

And he made one of my favourite techno lps, "Nighttime World Vol.1".
Got Guy called Geralds new album through on friday. Got to love first try and tajeen.. also got Carl Craigs 'Just another day' which is alright kinda..

Speaking of Guy called Gerald just reminded my self of a tune.. GCG - FX (mayday mix)
stunning classic tune !!
