sound cloud embedding on subvert central ??

hmmm appears the embedding of soundcloud streaming on the forum doesn't work anymore.

I always get "please visit soundcloud.com to listen to this content"

do you also get this? Or is it a settings thing on my part?

I googled for this last night and it seems it's a widespread thing. Somebody somewhere said it was due to the embedded player, maybe needs updating or something, though that's too technical for me

I've heard about this not working on forums anymore, but possibly people are just using old code to embed - I know on rolldabeats they still had the old player appear even after the new soundcloud was forced on everyone, so there was obviously a discrepancy there.

personally I think soundcloud is a stupid commercialised platform now and is pointless for the underground musician to continue with.

Embedding still works on DOA

so... did anybody end up boycotting, or closing their soundcloud account due to the imposed restrictions on where soundcloud is linked from? I read @ the time on soundcloud forums that soundcloud basically limited embedded streams to draw more traffic & usage to the soundcloud site, without paid customers' consultation, nor consent. People were recommending boycotting and using other outlets. Did anyone here follow suit?

I've seen soundcloud embedding being broken/not working on other sites as well definitely, like blogs. But with other forums, it still works. Well, maybe Scope gets back on the case someday.
