when i was still at university i used to carry a minidisk and mic around all the time.. 'just in case' i got some crazy stuff all over the place.
i made a tune for university based entirely around this loose bit of track at white city tube station.. haha it sounded wicked when the trains went over cos it was slapping back down against itself combined with some weird grinding from the train wheels.
i did another piece that i still have loads of samples from too.. basically got a small 6 channel mixing desk with built in effects and repeatedly wired the channels in and out of themselves and the built in effects until it started feeding back, then just by adjusting the parameters slightly and shaking it got some mad noises.
first things that come to mind..
