I think it's this song that got me into electronic music...
Still fucking incredible music!!
shouldn't the sun ra tune be relocated to "my" thread

actually it was this thread that inspired that: http://subvertcentral.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11691
thought i should look for something outside my comfort zone. so i thought, "i've never explored 30s music outside blues." turns out it sounds pretty fresh * to me. oh yeah, and i just want the sun ra tune as it will compliment my thread * especially after having to listened to a few quite long and confusing recordings by charles gayle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gp73fljcDOM)

Naphta Wrote:Statto, that commitments stuff is rubbish no it isn't :P your negative opinion is probably due to it being Dublin especially: you see Andrew Strong, think "arsehole", and turn your ears off but those performances are great Macc Wrote:Statto probably Wrote:I like any old rubbish http://subvertcentral.com/forum/showthre...post364565 an awesome performance – corny as hell, but what power!!!
one for MetaLX
one for qu:rec
and one for TVG
or watch the whole thing here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgCctNqoEv8 though the sound quality isn't very good and there's some guy talking in italian over the beginning
really interesting and captivating. referring back to the "context" thread, it's interesting trying to imagine watching that in a theatre during the depression era.
my research shows this one is definitely a classic. quite catchy too (from the mid-40's though):
what a thread
James brown on the minimoog
Couldn't decide which version, both are heart-melting
TVG Wrote:my research shows this one is definitely a classic. quite catchy too (from the mid-40's though): Hoagy Carmichael btw Lauren Bacall doesn't actually sing in that film (To Have and Have Not) she's miming to tracks by a 16-year old Andy Williams cycom Wrote:James brown on the minimoog |
