"J" at end of sentences in emails

did my head in... what do people mean by:

"See you tomorrow J" or "Fuck you J" or whatever... Lol so I finally googled it and it's as trivial as it could be.

Encoding incompatibility in MS Outlook 2003 with most other email programs.

It's supposed to be a bloody ":-)" smilie Roll
