Monolake - Polygon Cities
John Fahey - The Great Santa Barbara Oil Slick
Wolf Eyes & Anthony Braxton - Black Vomit
Blunt Wrote:Wolf Eyes & Anthony Braxton - Black Vomit

what's this like? Smile
Haven't listened to it yet, but heard clips, and it sounds mental. Bizarre pairing, but seems to work.
Great picture on the CD of Braxton in a cardigan looking, well, like an old man and Wolf Eyes, looking like something out of Deliverance.

Fuller report when I listen to it properly.
Terry Callier - Lookin' Out
grief - come to grief
necrosanct - desolate
necrosanct - incarnate

via amazon, at a rather low price Smile

will be picking this up sometime this week :d look forward to hearing what you think of it blunt.

going to see hair police this week, raaaarrrr!!
re: Wolf Eyes / Anthony Braxton....

the pairing definitely works well, but it will take a few listens for it to really sink in. At the moment, it just sounds like a big fucking mess (which is a compliment), but Braxton does not sound out of place at all.

Loads of energy, a gleeful malevolence, violently cathartic and other such adjectives The Wire would probably use. Do like the way they approach noise as a musical form. No way near as polished and clean-cut (if noise can be polished and clean-cut) as the pristine, painful noise of Merzbow and John Wiese, but a lot more fun than other metal leaning stuff like Kevin Drumm.

One of their tracks, Stabbed in the Face, even sounds like Aphex's Ventolin
I saw Wolf Eyes a while ago and thought they were rather boring and what I've heard on record by them wasn't too interesting. But I'd like to hear this album Braxton, from what I read it's different to their other stuff.
amon düül ii - carnival in babylon
diamanda galas - you must be certain of the devil
circle - tulikoira
the Braxton thing is pretty similar to Wolf Eyes' other stuff, from what I've heard, but then I've only heard Burned Mind.
the new folk sound of terry callier

An Albert Ayler thing
A Complany Flow instrumental LP
an old Joey Beltram 12
some SUAD thing from 98 with a Portishead sample on it
couple of Skull Disco 12s from Shackleton
That 12 with the Burial remix
a DJ C 7"
Wolf Eyes 12 - sampler to new Sub Pop LP
Surgeon reissue
